Garbanzo Burgers
2 cups of soaked Garbanzos (Chick peas)
¾ cup of water
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
1 small onion or ½ teaspoon of onion powder
1½ cups of soaked soybeans
1 teaspoon of beef-like seasoning (or chicken-like)
Sprinkle of garlic powder
Salt to taste
½ cup of water
Combine soaked Garbanzos, water, onion, (quartered) and the seasonings.
Blend until medium fine. Pour into a bowl. Grind soybeans - medium fine.
Add to Garbanzo mixture. Heat skillet to medium (325º F). Oil with 1
tablespoon of oil or less. Dip mixture with ½ cup scoop or measuring
cup, and flatten to mould into buns. Cover, let cook 10 minutes, or
until browned. Turn, cover, let cook for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
Makes 8 servings.
